Three years ago I learned a very valuable lesson. NEVER let your friends borrow your things, unless you are absolutely sure they are not going to ruin them. This was a painful DIY for me. It brought up a lot of bad memories about how upset I was when one of my friends destroyed the back of a pair of my Michael Kors heels I had only worn once before. I’ve kept them around for years just hoping one day I’ll take them out of storage and they will look like new again. I just never had the heart to throw them out. Recently, I came across some nail polish DIY ideas and decided to bite the bullet and try it out on my Michael Kors. Let me tell you, I’m glad I did.
- Some seriously messed up heels
- Nail polish (color of your choice & a clear coat)
These are the heels of my beautiful Michael Kors heels my friend destroyed. I know this picture does not do the damage justice. Black patent leather is harder to photograph than I anticipated. Just trust me, the scratches are there and they are deep!
These are the heels after a few coats of shimmery navy nail polish. I have always been a fan of pairing navy and black. My friends used to make fun of me, but now it is a trend and I am loving it! I thought about using black nail polish but then I realized I had nothing to lose and went for the navy, and I love it!
